AQIP Systems Portfolio It is often joked, especially in small towns, that everyone is related. While that may not be true in the literal sense, there is certainly some truth to it. All of us may not be related, but we are connected. In this Systems Portfolio, our College Vision comes to life in real, tangible ways that demonstrate how we really are connected. As our Vision states, Southeastern Community College envisions itself as a dynamic leader in lifelong learning, an innovator of responsive programs and services, and a promoter of professional, personal, social and economic development. The information on these pages is evidence of our dedication to making our vision everyone’s reality. As you read the Systems Portfolio, you will see descriptions of our processes. You will gain insights on how efforts to study and revise processes have resulted in welcomed improvements. You will also see the results of many active relationships within our region, such as the new Emergency Response Training Center that will soon provide vital training to our region’s first responders, the new InTech! Industrial skills training program that will prepare residents for rewarding careers in growing industries, and our recently completed Welding Technology facility that was developed with area partners to provide quality education to the next generation of welders. Everyone’s individual participation adds up for the greater good. Yes, we all are connected. And with a little hard work, visions do become reality. Nowhere else is this more evident than at SCC. -- Dr. Beverly Simone, President Introduction to SCC Southeastern Community College (SCC), a public institution of higher education which encompasses all of Des Moines, Henry and Lee Counties and part of Louisa County in Southeast Iowa, has a total population of approximately 100,000.
